OPEN Events
OPEN offers a wide variety of options for people to get involved with the psychedelic community in Ottawa. These offerings are a mix of in-person and online events, and space is often limited so signing up in advance is recommended. We run at least one every week so there is lots of ways to connect, and we post all of our events on Meetup.com
Discussion Circles
Join OPEN's online Discussion Circle for an unstructured and informal conversation around the weird and wonderful world of psychedelia. There is no set topic for our Discussion Circles. Instead, the conversation will naturally evolve depending on the people gathered. Discussion circles are meant to be a safe and comfortable spaces both for seasoned journeyers to connect with others on a similar path, and for people new to psychedelics who want to listen to and/or ask others about their experiences.
Reading Groups
Explore the ever-growing world of psychedelic literature with OPEN's online Reading Group! For these events, a short text will be selected in the weeks leading up to the Reading Group online meeting, and a PDF version of it will be provided to you. These texts will vary greatly in style (book excerpts, research articles, opinion pieces, magazine articles, etc) and content. We aim to give our community members an opportunity to learn about psychedelics and altered states of consciousness in a more structured way, while connecting with others who are curious and excited about the research being done on these topics.
Integration Circles
An integration circle is a safe, confidential space for community members to come together and seek/provide support in exploring past experiences of non-ordinary states of consciousness. As an intentional space created to integrate psychedelic experiences, we follow a more structured format to help create a safe and non-judgmental container for exploring and sharing together. We welcome all journeyers to our Integration Circles! However, for those who do not have experience with psychedelics and non-ordinary states of consciousness, our Discussion Circles may be a better place to start for an introduction to this space.
Community Events
We also offer a variety of special public events throughout the year ranging from social nights at local bars to connect with the psychedelic community, to community picnics during the summer, to educational webinars, to hosting movie screenings and comedy shows, to putting on educational events with renowned guest speakers from the psychedelic space
